The Chicago Independent Media Alliance (CIMA), a project of the Reader Institute for Community Journalism, launched in 2019 as a response to the industry’s revenue decline. CIMA believes in collaboration over competition in the media industry. We hold strong to a lift-all-boats model and believe in business and editorial partnerships for the overall security of independent journalism.
